Bounteous

As the main brand designer and illustrator for Bounteous, I created a lot of illustrations for their thought leadership articles. They had recently rebranded, and I developed an illustration style using newly established guidelines. I kind of love that it turned into a superflat, almost vaporwave aesthetic, supporting pretty esoteric or complicated (PIMs, anyone?) concepts in one shot.

Tastes Like Home

I made this zine in time for Chicago Zine Fest in 2018, and it’s easily the one closest to my heart, and the best selling zine I’ve ever made. I wrote about homemade Asian food and what it means to me as a Filipinx person, how both complex and convenient Asian cooking can be, and how shortcuts aren’t always a bad thing. I made this in a real 21st century way, using my iPad doodles and InDesign text along with good old tape and markers and scissors and photocopies. I’d love to make a second edition.

All Kinds of Girls

This started as a 100 Day Project and took on a life of its own. Every day I drew a portrait, and every day was different. Sometimes they were crude, sometimes detailed, sometimes traditionally female, sometimes not. It ended up feeling like a celebration of the diversity of people and gender expression, and definitely just the tip of the iceberg.

Cut Paper Collage Work

During my undergrad illustration studies, the style I always came back to was cut paper collage and xerox transfer. This is a small collection of work from my thesis portfolio.
